This is an 18k yellow gold Girard-Perregaux Traveler II 4940. It has an integral stainless steel link bracelet with a folding deployment clasp, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There are two crowns at 2 and 4 o'clock on the right-side case band; The push-down crown at 4 o'clock adjusts the GMT second time zone function, and the upper push-down crown adjusts the time, date, and alarm in various positions. It has a solid case back secured with 6 screws and engraved around the perimeter with "MANUFACTURE GIRARD-PERREGAUX – TIME ZONE ALARM – AUTOMATIC – Ref. 4940." The 38mm diameter two-body case, curved lugs, bracelet, and angled bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is champagne, with blackened needle-tipped luminous steel sword hands, a black center sweep second hand, large gold applied Arabic numeral hour makers, and the GMT scale has a fourth black hand with a luminous red and white arrow indicator. The inner GMT track has white Arabic numerals, white pips, and red accent pips at the quarter hours. There is a luminous white perimeter railroad-style track, and it includes an alarm aperture window at the 12 o'clock position, and a date aperture window at 6 o'clock. It has a 44-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Girard-Perregaux Traveler II 4940 has a mechanical automatic Girard-Perregaux caliber 225-917 movement. It's rhodium-plated, and it's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds device for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Girard-Perregaux Traveler II 4940 was introduced in 2000 and it was produced until 2009.
