This is a 904L grade stainless-steel Rolex Sea Dweller 16600. It includes an integral stainless-steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp, a Rolex Glidelock extension system, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It includes a screw down signed Triplock winding crown protected by pointed crown-guards, and a helium escape valve at 9 o'clock on the left-side case band. It has a solid screwed-down engraved case back engraved with "ROLEX OYSTER – ORIGINAL GAS ESCAPE VALVE." The 40mm diameter Oyster three-body solid case, gently curved hooded lugs, polished and brushed, bracelet, and a bidirectional graduated revolving black Cerachrom 60-minute bezel with engraved platinum-coated numerals that indicate the decompression times, are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous SuperLumiNova "Mercedes" style Rolex minute and hour hands and a center sweep second hand with a luminous lollipop indicator. It includes applied luminous round, baton and triangular hour index markers surrounded by a luminous white perimeter minute/second scale and there is a date aperture window at 3 o'clock without a magnification lens. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) certification, and it has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding. It's water resistant to 1,220 meters/4,000 feet, and the 14.1mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Sea Dweller 16600 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3135 movement that's rhodium plated. It's constructed with 31 jewels, and a shock absorber system. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, and 5 positions, and Microstella timing screws. It has a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, a stop settings central hacking mechanism function for precision timing, and a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Rolex Sea Dweller 16600 was released in 1988 and it was produced until 2008. SuperLumiNova was used after 1999. Rolex originally debuted the Sea Dweller in 1967; it was water resistant to a depth of 610 meters (2,000 feet), and it was upgraded in 1978 to the current 1,220 meters (4,000 feet), making it a pioneer in 1988 when the Hydra VIII Comex mission (Compagnie Maritime d'Expertises) set the world open-sea diving record at 534 meters with a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller chronometer.
