More about T Open Date Retrograde Platinum

This is a platinum Zenith Chronomaster T Open Retrograde, 40.0240.4023/01.C495. It has a leather strap with a platinum double-fold- over buckle, and a scratch resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. There is an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 8 screws. The 40mm diameter solid three-body 950 platinum case, platinum stepped bezel, rectangular chronograph pushbuttons, and stepped downturned lugs are polished. It has a silver guilloche dial with applied black dart hour index markers, and grey hands, including the chronograph sweep hand. There is an outer 1/5 seconds track. A distinctive black-rimmed (heart shaped) cutout in the dial between 8 and 12 o'clock shows the escapement. There is a power reserve indicator arch above the 6 o'clock position, and a black retrograde date arc between 1 and 4 o'clock, inside which is a 30-minute chronograph subsidiary dial. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and it has a 55-hour power reserve at full wind. The 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Zenith caliber 4023 movement is rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 39 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 36,000 vph. This watch was produced in an extremely limited edition of 50 examples.
