This is a stainless steel IWC Pilot Double Chronograph Spitfire, IW371802. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle. The solid, 44mm. two-body case is polished and brushed, with downturned lugs, a stepped bezel, and a screwed-down case back and crown. The case is 17mm thick. The dark grey 30-minute subsidiary dial is at 12 o'clock, and the dark grey 12-hour sub dial is at 6 o'clock. The split-second chronograph pushbutton is at the 10 o'clock position, with a split seconds hand for intermediate timings. Date and day aperture windows are at 3 o'clock, and a small seconds subsidiary dial is at 9. The central dial is silver with applied luminous silver Arabic numeral hour, baton, and arrow index markers in a plain reserve, with an outer minute/second track, and black luminous skeleton hands. There are stopwatch and Fly back functions. It's water resistant to 60 meters, and the sapphire crystal is secured against displacement by extreme drops in air pressure. It has a 44-hour power reserve at full wind, and the case, dial, and movement are signed. The self-winding, automatic IWC caliber 79230 movement is rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 29 jewels, and shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, an index regulator, and a hacking seconds mechanism. IWC debuted their first Pilot’s Watch Spitfire in 2003; it was named after the legendary British single propeller aircraft of World War II.
