More about Jumbo Nautilus 5712 SS/SS

This is a stainless steel Patek Philippe 5712/1A Jumbo Nautilus. It has a three-part body and a sapphire-crystal see-through case back. The updated Caliber 240 self-winding automatic movement has 29 jewels, 265 parts, a Gyromax balance, and a 22K gold offset mini-rotor. It vibrates 21,600 times an hour with a power reserve of 48 hours. It has moon phases, date by hand, and small seconds sub-dials; the moon-phase corrector push-bar is on the side of the case, limiting the water resistance to 60m. The Nautilus line was introduced in 1976; this watch was introduced in 2006 for the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus collection, replacing reference 3712, made in 2005-2006. This case is slightly larger, and It was also made in pink and white gold. The renowned watch genius, Gerald Genta, designed the series, and the bracelet is also stainless steel. The case shape is generally listed as "oval," but it has the slightest curves and gentle edges that actually make it an octagon. The Nautilus maintains an extremely strong sports image; the case's "lateral ears" are used to secure the bezel, giving the case the impression of a ship's porthole. It has both satin and mirror finishing, with hand chamfering and the seamless perfection of a submarine. There are luminous insets in the hands and hour markers. It has a screw-down crown.
