More about Ingenieur SS Automatic Blue Dial PLASTIKI

This is a stainless steel IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth PLATISKI IW323603. It has a blue composite rubber strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-glare coatings. There is a solid screw-down case back engraved with "INTERNATIONAL WATCH COMPANY – INGENIEUR," and a central triangle with "ADVENTURE – ECOLOGY – INGENIEUR," and the triple arrow emblem. It has a soft-iron inner case protecting against magnetic fields up to 80,000 A/m. It has a screw-down winding crown protected by a shouldered crown guard, and the 46mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, and stepped bezel with 5 screws are polished/brushed. There is a black textured dial, and baton hands and applied baton hour markers, all with orange luminescent inserts. It has a center sweep seconds hand with a luminous arrow pointer, a perimeter minute/seconds track, and luminous Arabic hour markers at the half-hours. There is a date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position, and it has a power reserve of 44-hours at full wind. It's water resistant to 120 meters/385 feet, and the 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth PLATISKI IW323603 has a mechanical automatic self-winding caliber 80110 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 28 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and an integrated shock-absorption system. It includes a monometallic balance that adjusts for cold, heat, and five positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. The movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth PLATISKI IW323603 was introduced in 2011. It's IWC's homage to British adventurer David de Rothschild and his crew, who sailed across the Pacific from San Francisco to Sydney, Australia, in 2010 in their ecologically designed catamaran, the “Plastiki.”
