More about Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial SS/SS 42MM
This is a stainless-steel Omega Seamaster Co-Axial Planet Ocean 2201.50.00. It has an integral stainless-steel Omega link bracelet with a folding deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. It has a signed screw down winding crown, a helium gas release valve on the left-side case band at 10 o'clock, and there is a solid screw down case back engraved in high relief with "SEAMASTER," the Omega symbol, and the Omega hippocampus, with "PLANTET OCEAN" on the rim. The 42mm diameter barrel-shaped solid, three-body case, lyre lugs, bracelet, and black flat insert bezel, are polished/brushed. The knurled revolving unidirectional bezel has silver elapsed Arabic numeral 60-minute graduations every ten-minutes with a dive triangle and luminous pip at the 60. The dial is matte black with applied steel luminous trapezoidal hour index markers, luminous Arabic numerals at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, and luminous steel broad arrow hour and minute hands, with a steel center sweep seconds hand with a luminous arrow and an orange needle tip with a dauphine-style counterbalance. It has a date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position, it includes a 48-hour power reserve at full winding. It's water resistant to 600 meters/2000 feet, and the 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Omega Seamaster Co-Axial Planet Ocean 2201.50.00 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Omega caliber 2500 (based on the ETA 2892-A2) movement that's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 27 jewels and a shock absorber mechanism. It has the patented Omega co-axial escapement, a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking mechanism. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 25,200 vph (3.5Hz). The Omega Seamaster Co-Axial Planet Ocean 2201.50.00 was introduced in 2005 and it was produced until 2013. It featured their "coaxial escapement" mechanism released in 1999, with the 2500 caliber movement to replace the traditional Swiss-lever escapement. This is the watch worn by Daniel Craig in the 2008 James Bond Quantum of Solace movie.
