Patek Philippe produced this rare, discontinued annual calendar complication wristwatch in the 1990's, aimed at a younger demographic. It accompanied their now famous marketing campaign: "You never own a Patek Philippe timepiece; you merely take care of it for the next generation." Made in 18K yellow, white, or pink gold, the 5035 has a traditional design with a contemporary appearance and the ingenious annual calendar, which Patek invented and first debuted with this watch. The dial is applied with gold Roman numeral hours, (inlaid with luminous markers, as are the hands), and it has a brown leather bracelet with an 18K gold buckle. There is a day marker at 9 o'clock, a month subdial at the three o'clock position, and the date window is at 6 o'clock. It has a second hand sweep and an am-pm indicator. A Railroad minute chapter is around the periphery, and there is a fixed, smooth bezel with a domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire exhibition display back. The automatic movement is the Caliber 315, with 35 jewels, 316 parts and a power reserve of 48 hours. The efficient self-winding rotor is 21K gold; the Geneve seal is stamped on the movement.
