More about Brevet Precision Oyster Manual Wind SS/SS Circa 1950's 35MM

This is a stainless-steel vintage c.1950's Rolex Precision Brevet Oyster 6422. It has a stainless steel 78350 bracelet with 557 end links, and an acrylic crystal. It includes a signed Twinlock double waterproof winding crown and a snap down solid case back engraved on the inside with "MONTRES ROLEX SA – GENEVA -SWITZERLAND -PATENTED – STAINLESS STEEL -6422 – 1958." The 34mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, bracelet, and flat angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is glossy black with luminous faceted applied gold dart hour indices, gold applied Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, and the Rolex crown at 12 o'clock. It includes the original alpha radium coated yellow gold hands around a perimeter gilt minute second scale with luminous pips, and a gold center sweep second hand. It has a power reserve of 58-hours at full winding, and the 10.7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Precision Brevet Oyster 6422 has a mechanical manual winding Rolex caliber 1210 movement. It's rhodium-plated and it's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a shock-absorber device, and a self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5Hz). The Rolex Precision Brevet Oyster 6422 was introduced in the 1950's.
