More about Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Platinum
This is a platinum Breguet Perpetual Eternal Calendar Tourbillon 3757PT/1E/9V6. It has a leather strap with a matching platinum deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 39mm diameter solid three-body case, coin-edged band, rounded bezel, straight lugs, and platinum screwed bars are polished, as is the screwed down display sapphire case back. The engine-turned silvered solid gold dial has four sub dials with blued Breguet hands, including a serpentine minute hand. It includes an off-center brushed chapter ring with painted radial Roman numerals for the hours, dot minute divisions and the retrograde date at 12 o'clock. There are brushed ring sub dials for the months and leap year at 3 o'clock, the days of the week at 9, and a sector for the double 30-second graduation at 6 o'clock, with the aperture for the tourbillon cage with a brushed steel bridge and the small second register; they present a preview of the hand-decorated movement that's visible on the verso. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and it has a power reserve of 50-hours. The 10.5mm case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding Breguet caliber 558 movement is rhodium-plated with hand-engraved embellishment. It's constructed with 21 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a lateral lever escapement with a one-minute tourbillon regulator and three equidistant polished steel arms. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to six positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring with an over coil. It oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph. Abraham Louis Breguet, the father of 18th century Swiss horology, patented the tourbillon regulator in 1801, and almost 200 years later, Breguet's inheritors patented the straight-line perpetual calendar in 1997. This is from the Breguet Grand Complications collection.
