This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Automatic 1000 Hours 140.8.89. It includes an integral jumilee-style stainless steel link bracelet with a deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a solid screw-down case back secured with 4 screws and engraved with a gold Master Control 1000 Hours emblem in high relief. The 37mm diameter solid three body case, downturned lugs, and angled bezel are polished. The dial is satin silver with applied polished steel Arabic numeral hour markers at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, and polished steel dart hour indices with luminous pips around a perimeter black minute/seconds track. It has polished steel Dauphine hands with luminous inserts, and a sweep center seconds hand. There is a steel-rimmed date aperture window at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and it has a 38-hour power reserve at full wind. The 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Automatic 1000 Hours 140.8.89 has a mechanical automatic Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 899/1 movement that's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 36 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a 21k gold rotor segment, and the mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). This Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Automatic 1000 Hours 140.8.89 has passed the six-week, 1000-hour series of tests that has now become the benchmark examination for all JLC timepieces before they leave the factory. They produced the first Master Control watches in 1992.
