More about Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph SS / SS
This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme World, Q1768170. It includes an integral stainless steel bracelet. The solid two-body case, angled lugs and bezel are polished and brushed with the case back secured by four screws. The winding crown and round chronograph pushbuttons have red marked twist-lock guards, and there is another crown at 10 o'clock for adjusting the world time dial. It has a date aperture between 4 and 5 o'clock, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and the dial is black with luminous dart hour index markers, Arabic half-hour numerals, and alpha hands. There is an outer track with 1/5 second and minute divisions, a far outer rotating 24-hour ring for nocturnal and diurnal indications, and a silver and white outer world time dial marked with the names of 23 cities. There is a 12-hour subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock, a 30-minute aperture at 3 o'clock, and a power reserve register arc at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet), and it has a 65-hour power reserve when fully wound. The Jaeger LeCoultre automatic winding caliber 752 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 41 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The diameter is a huge 46.3 mm., and the case, dial, and movement are all signed. In 2002 the Master Compressor was introduced, based on the Memovox Polaris of 1965 – with a compression key crown, enhanced durability, and a higher water resistance. In 2005, this Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph was produced, with adventurer Emmanuel Coindre wearing it when he rowed across the Pacific, taking 129 days from Japan to the United States.
