This is an 18K rose gold A. Lange & Sohne Datograph 403.031. It has a leather strap with a matching 18k rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There's a quick correction plunger on the edge of the case at 10 o'clock, and the chronograph's minute hand makes 1-minute jumps for an enhanced accuracy in reading the timing function. The precision flyback function of the chronograph instantly restarts the stopwatch to continuously time an event without needing to pause, reset, and restart. It has an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 6 screws, and it's engraved with "A. LANGE & SOHNE – GLASHUTTE SA.," hallmarks, and a serial number. The solid 39mm diameter three-body case, rounded bezel, and downturned lugs are polished. The dial is black with rhodium-plated 18K gold sword hands with luminous inserts, and applied 18K rose gold Roman numeral hour and faceted baton indices. It has a gold rimmed double big date aperture window at 12 o'clock, and there are twin recessed silver subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals, markers, and indicator hands, including a running small seconds register between 7 and 9 o'clock, and an instantaneous 30-minute chronograph totalizer is between 3 and 4 o'clock. There is a luminous white outer 60-second - 1/5 second track, and around the perimeter is a luminous white graduated pulsometer scale to 400 b.p.m. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 36-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. It's made of Glashütte 3/4 plate, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 40 jewels, 405 components, a shock absorber mechanism, and includes 4 in screw-mounted gold châtons. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions. There is a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, a swan-neck micrometer regulator, and a hand-engraved balance bridge. The movement oscillates at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz). The A. Lange & Sohne Datograph 403.031 watch was only produced for two years with the black dial, from 2003 to 2005.
