More about Senator Sixties Chronograph SS Black Dial
This is a stainless steel Glashutte Original Senator Sixties Chronograph 39-34-02-22-04. It has an alligator strap with a Glashutte Original stainless steel tang buckle, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-glare coatings. It has plunger-type chronograph push buttons, and a screw-down winding crown. There is an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 5 screws, and engraved around the polished outer perimeter are "GLASHUTTE ORIGINAL – 3 ATM – ST. STEEL," and a serial number. The inner perimeter underneath the crystal is engraved with "SENATOR – SIXTIES – CHRONOGRAPH." The case back crystal has a specially domed shape to view the 21k gold edge of the rotor. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, and flat angled bezel are polished. The dial is black with applied faceted steel baton hour markers, luminous dot indices, stylized luminous Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, arched steel hands with luminous inserts to conform to the shape of the dial, and a steel center sweep chronograph hand. There is a perimeter minute/ second scale. It has two recessed black subsidiary dials, including a small running seconds register at 3 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 9 o'clock, both with steel hands and white markers. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and there is a 40-hour power reserve at full wind. The 12.4mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Glashutte Original Senator Sixties Chronograph 39-34-02-22-04 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Glashutte caliber 39-31 movement that's rhodium plated, with a striped/ribbed Cotes de Geneve finish, some hand engraved designs, and beveled component edges. It's constructed with 51 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, a swan-neck index regulator, a hacking seconds mechanism, and a rotor with a 21K gold segment. The movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Glashutte Original Senator Sixties Chronograph 39-34-02-22-04 was introduced in 2008.
