More about Vintage Triple Calendar Chronograph Moonphase Manual Wind SS
This is a vintage c. 1950's stainless steel Mathey Tissot Triple Calendar Moonphase Chronograph. It has a leather strap a stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a screw down winding crown, rectangular chronograph push buttons, and correctors on the left-side case band at 10 o'clock for adjusting the day and month, and at 8:30 for setting the date and moon phase. There is a snap down solid case back, and the 35mm diameter solid three-body case, gently curved lugs, and flat angled bezel, are polished. The original dial is silver with applied faceted steel baton hour markers, and an applied steel Arabic numeral 12 inside a black minute/second scale. It includes steel dauphine hands, and a steel center sweep chronograph seconds hand. It has a date indicator hand with an arrow pointer for the perimeter blue Arabic numeral radial date chapter ring. There are three silver concentric circle guilloche subsidiary dials with black markers and Arabic numerals, and steel indicator hands, including a running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, a moon phase and radial 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 6 o'clock, and there is a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 3 o'clock. It has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Mathey Tissot Triple Calendar Moonphase Chronograph has a mechanical manual winding Valjoux caliber 88 chronograph movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a gold center wheel, a monometallic balance, and a shock absorber device. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5Hz).
