More about Vintage 1970 Yacht Club Automatic Pellaton SS
This is a vintage c. 1970 stainless steel IWC Yacht Club 811AD. circa 1970, stainless steel cushion-shaped case is very sharp and still has the original winding crown with the IWC fish symbol, and a screw down solid case back, inside of which is engraved "INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO. – SWISS – STAINLESS STEEL," and the "IWC PROBUS SCAFUSIA" hallmark. The 37mm diameter cushion-shaped solid two-body case, straight lugs, and rounded bezel, are polished/brushed. The original dial is silver with applied faceted baton hour indices around a perimeter dot minute/second scale. It has pointed steel baton hands, a central sweep second hand, and there is a steel-framed date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position. The cushion design is Iwc's "Super Shockproofing" case, with the movement encased in a smaller inner case for more anti-shock protection. It has a 44-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This IWC Yacht Club 811AD has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 8541 B movement with the IWC Pellaton excenter winding system. It's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, ruby rollers, double excenter regulator for the curb pins and stud carrier, and it's constructed with 25 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and an Incabloc shock absorber mechanism. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted for heat, cold, and 5 positions, an index regulator, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and adjustment screws on the balance spokes. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 19,800 vph (2.75 Hz).
