More about Dynamic Chronograph SS / Bracelet 38MM

This is a stainless steel c. 1997 Omega Dynamic Chronograph 5240.50. It includes an integral stainless steel link Omega bracelet, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has round "pushrod-style" chronograph pushbuttons, a screw down winding crown, and there is a solid screw down case back engraved "OMEGA." The 38mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, bracelet, and stepped bezel, are polished/brushed. It has a black dial with luminous Breguet-style Arabic numerals around a perimeter white railroad-style 60-minute scale with yellow Arabic numerals every five secods. It has luminous sword hands with a yellow center sweep chronograph second hand with an arrow counterbalance. There are twin recessed black subsidiary dials with luminous white markers, and Arabic numerals, including a running small seconds register with a white indicator at 3 o'clock, and there is a 30-minute chronograph totalizer with a yellow sword indicator hand at 9 o'clock. It has a power reserve of 40 hours at full winding, and it's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet. The 12.5mm thick case, dial, and movement, are all signed. This Omega Dynamic Chronograph 5240.50 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Omega caliber 1138 (based on the ETA 2890-A2) movement with a Dubois-Depraz chronograph module. It's rhodium plated with fausses cotes and cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 44 jewels (not 45 as was announced in the original Omega brochure). The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Omega Dynamic Chronograph 5240.50 is the third and last generation, introduced in 1997.
