More about IWC IW376805 Aquatimer Chronograph SS / Rubber Blue Dial

This is a stainless steel IWC Aquatimer Chronograph IW376805. It has a black rubber strap with the IWC-patented quick-change system, a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides. It has round chronograph push buttons, two correctors on the left side case band and a sliding clutch system with a polished protective cover located on the case edge at the 9 o'clock position that allows the unidirectional rotating external bezel to interact with the internal bezel ring while maintaining the water resistance integrity of the watch. It has a screw down winding crown, and a solid screw down case back engraved with "IWC – AQUATIMER – CHRONOGRAPH – EXPEDITION JACQUES IVES COUSTEAU – 30 BAR," a serial number, and a portrait of Jacques-Ives Cousteau in the center medallion. It has a mechanical external/rotating bezel with the white luminous "safe dive" system Arabic numerals and markings. The 44mm diameter solid three-body case, straight lugs, and flat crenelated bezel, are brushed with polished finished corners. There is a grained blue dial with luminous baton hands, a center sweep chronograph hand with a skeletonized orange arrow tip, and polished applied index hour markers filled with white luminescent paint that illuminates blue. It has a luminous white minute/seconds scale, and twin aperture windows for the day and date at 3 o'clock. There are three recessed blue subsidiary dials with white markers and Arabic numerals, including a running small seconds register with an orange indicator hand at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 6 o'clock, and there is a 30-minute totalizer at 12 o'clock. It has a 44-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet. The 17mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Aquatimer Chronograph IW376805 has a mechanical automatic IWC caliber 79320 movement. It's rhodium plated with cotes de Geneve embellishment, and perlage on the bridges. It's constructed with 25 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a hacking seconds device for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).
