More about Vintage Manual 18K Yellow Gold Fancy Lugs with Diamond markers

This is a vintage c. early 1950's 18k yellow gold Vacheron Constantin manual wind 4912. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k yellow gold plated tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a pull out winding crown, and there is a snap down solid engine turned case back stamped with "VACHERON – CONSTANTIN – SWISS – 4912," hallmarks, and a serial number. The 35mm diameter sharp solid two-body case, fancy scalloped lugs, and flat angled bezel with arched riders between both sets of horn lugs, are polished/brushed. The dial is silver with fine round white diamond hour indices around a perimeter minute scale. It has applied gold Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock, and there are applied gold baton hour markers. It includes thin gold baton "stick" hands, and there is a silver running small seconds subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock with black markers and a gold indicator hand. The 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Vacheron Constantin manual wind 4912 has a mechanical manual winding Caliber 453/3B movement. It's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, a swan movement neck index regulator, a cut bi-metallic balance adjusted to heat and cold, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz).
