More about IWC 3531003 Portuguese SS / Rose Numerals 35MM

This is a stainless steel IWC Portuguese 3531003. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has an exhibition sapphire crystal case back. The 35mm diameter case, concave bezel, and downturned lugs are polished/brushed. The dial is matte silver with 18K rose gold Arabic numeral hour markers, outer dot minute markers, and feuille hands. There is a small seconds subsidiary dial at the 6 o'clock position. It has a 38-hour power reserve, it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Portuguese 3531003 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 891/2 movement that's rhodium plated, with fausses côtes embellishment. It's constructed with 36 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. There is a bidirectional-switching rocker on the automatic winding mechanism, and the movement is fitted with a Triovis fine rate adjustment device. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic Glucydur balance adjusted to temperature and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

In homage to one of their greatest watches, this IWC Portuguese 3531003 was introduced in 2000, and has a nearly identical dial to the original 1993 Portuguese.
