More about Nomos 131 Tangente Date Power Reserve

This is a stainless steel Nomos Tangente Date Power Reserve (Gangreserve) 131. It has a shell cordovan leather strap with a Nomos stainless steel tang buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a pull out winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back engraved with "GESCHUTZTES MODELL TANGENTE – EDELSTAHL – WASSERDICHT BIS 3 ATM," and a serial number. The 35mm diameter solid three-body case, faceted angled lugs, and thin flat bezel, are polished. The dial is galvanized silver plate with painted black Arabic numeral markers on the even hours, and stick baton indices on the odds, around a perimeter black minute scale. It has thin pointed blued baton hands, and there is an extra large date aperture window at the 6 o'clock position. A recessed silver running small seconds subsidiary dial with black markers is above the date, and the 42-hour red and mint circular power reserve indicator is at 12:30. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 6.60mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Nomos Tangente Date Power Reserve (Gangreserve) 131 has a mechanical manual winding Nomos caliber DUW 4401 movement. It's made of German ¾ plate with Glashutte stripe embellishment, and Nomos perlage. It's constructed with 23 jewels, blued screws, a ratchet and crown wheel with Glashutte sunburst embellishment, a fine adjustment in 6 positions, an anti-shock device, and the power reserve mechanism is integrated in the barrel allowing the movement and the watch to be very thin. It includes a tempered blued balance spring, a stop seconds device for precision time setting, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

The Nomos Tangente Date Power Reserve (Gangreserve) 131 was introduced in 2017, and the DUW 4401 caliber is the first to feature the Nomos swing system escapement.
