More about Patek Philippe 5960P-016 Annual Calendar Chronograph BLACK DIAL

This is a platinum Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph 5960P-016. The black dial has applied white gold faceted baton hour markers, luminous dots, and white gold luminous feuille hands, as well as a center sweep chronograph seconds hand. It has outer minute and 1/5th seconds divisions, and a subsidiary dial for the combined 30/60-minute and 12-hour totalizer. There is a power-reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, apertures for the days of the week, the date, the months, as well as a day/night indicator. It has a round button fly back chronograph and it's water resistant to 30 meters. There are correctors in the band and a screw-down transparent sapphire crystal case back. The alligator leather strap includes a matching platinum deployant clasp. The case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph 5960P-016 has a mechanical self-winding caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H movement that's rhodium-plated with causses cotes embellishment and it's stamped with the Patek Philippe quality mark. It's constructed with 40 jewels, 456 parts, and a straight-line lever escapement. There is a shock absorber mechanism and the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that compensates for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, and a 21K gold rotor with oil-free ball bearing and zirconium balls. It has a power reserve of up to 55 hours.

In 1996 Patek received a patent for their Annual Calendar mechanism, while their annual calendar watch (only having to be manually adjusted once every 365 days) was selected watch of the year in the Basel show. They've been making the finest chronographs since the 1920's; this Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph 5960P-016 was introduced in 2006.
