This is a stainless steel/18K yellow gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 16523. It has an integral stainless steel and 18k yellow gold Oyster bracelet, a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and round chronograph pushbuttons. The screwed-down Triplock winding crown is protected by the crown guard, and the 40mm diameter solid three-body case, screwed down solid case back, Oyster bracelet and crowns are polished/brushed. The dial is silver with luminescent gold baton hands, faceted luminescent gold "boat shaped" baton hour index markers, a central sweep seconds chronograph hand, and a perimeter black minute scale. There is a tachometer graduation on the gold bezel to 400 units per hour. It has a subsidiary dial for the small seconds at the 6 o'clock position, a 12-hour sub dial at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute register at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 16523 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 4030 movement is rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, a self-compensating free sprung Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). In 1963 Rolex introduced the Cosmograph Daytona, the chronograph that was a professional instrument for endurance racing drivers, with a tachymetric scale for measuring average speed on the bezel, and a cluster of subials that were reminiscent of a Ferrari dashboard. In 2000, they debuted this evolved 4130 caliber movement which was made with only 289 different parts. This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 16523 was introduced in the 2000's.
