More about Jaeger LeCoultre Q1778170 Master Compressor Extreme W/ Alarm

This is a stainless steel/Grade 5 Titanium Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm, Q177T47V. It has a stainless steel and titanium bracelet, and a cambered scratch resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. It has a winding crown and chronograph buttons with twist-lock guards and yellow directional markers, and a crown at 10 o'clock for setting the world time dial. The 46.3mm diameter solid three-body case, Titanium side panels, downturned lugs, and flat inclined bezel are polished. It has a solid case back secured with 4 screws and engraved with "EXTREME W/ ALARM, MASTER COMPRESSOR, 1000 hours", a globe, hallmarks, and a serial and model number. The dial is black with luminous dart indexes and Arabic half-hour numerals, outer fifths of a second/minute divisions, luminous alpha hands, and a central red sweep chronograph hand with an arrow tip. There is a rotating 24-hour ring for the diurnal and nocturnal hours in yellow and white, and an outer world time GMT disc with the cities that usually represent specific time zones replaced by the great motor-racing circuits, and adjustable by the Black PVD-coated Aluminum crown at 10 o'clock. There is an alarm function that can be deactivated by depressing the push piece at 10 o'clock; it has a 2-disc minute and hour system visible through a sector aperture at 9 o'clock. A trapezoidal date aperture is at 3 o'clock with rapid date change via the counter-clockwise crown direction at 2 o'clock. The alarm chime is loud and clear because the gong runs around the complete circumference of the movement, instead of being attached to the caseback as in earlier Memovox alarm watches. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and it has a 45-hour power reserve. The 16mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 912 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 28 jewels, 315 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted for heat, cold, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).
