This is a stainless steel F.P Journe Repetition Souverain. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching stainless steel deplyant clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 40mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and rounded bezel are polished. The display case back is sapphire crystal secured with 6 screws. The dial is guilloche silver with painted blue Arabic numeral hour markers on a plain reserve, blued steel Journe hands, and an outer minute satin silver chapter ring. There is a power reserve sector for the up-and-down indication at the 3 o'clock position, a small seconds sub dial between 7 and 8 o'clock, and visible striking hammers between 9 and 10 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and there is a 56-hour power reserve. It includes a Certified Official Swiss Chronograph (COSC) certification. The 8.65mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding F.P. Journe caliber 1408 movement is 18K rose gold, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 33 jewels and an Anachron free-sprung flat balance spring. It includes a monometallic 4-arm balance adjusted to 6 positions with 4 eccentric timing weights, twin barrels, a gold wheel train, and the flat gong first seen on the Grande Sonnerie which produces a louder, clearer sound than traditional gongs. Unlike traditional minute repeaters, the hours and minutes of the Repetition Souverain share the same hammer; so a pause is automatically inserted between hour and minute chimes when there are no quarters. The quarters sound with classic double chimes. An inertia regulator controls the speed of the chimes, thus eliminating the background noise usually associated with traditional air regulators. The FP Journe Retition Souverain is a very slim and extremely light minute repeater. It is an incredible accomplishment for Journe and an important piece for any serious Journe collector.
