More about Panerai PAM00024 Luminor Submersible SS

This is an AISI 316 alloy stainless steel Panerai Luminor Submersible PAM00024. It has a composite rubber strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has the patented crown guard with a lever-activated fully protected winding crown for winding even under water, which has been the stylistic signature of the Luminor watches since the first models in the 1930's. It's designed as a lever to put pressure on the crown and ensure a water resistant seal. There is a solid case screw down case back that's engraved "OFFICINE PANERAL – STAINLESS STEEL – 300M – FIRENZE 1860 – AUTOMATIC – DIVER'S PROFESSIONAL," meaning that it's compliant with the ISO 6425 standards for professional diving watches. The 44mm cushion shaped three-body case, downturned lugs, and counter-clockwise unidirectional graduated diver's bezel for measuring immersion times with a ratchet click at minute intervals, and steel Tritium dots, are polished/satin. The black dial has luminous tritium dot hour index markers and Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o'clock, and there are skeletonized hour and minute hands with Tritium inserts. It includes a recessed black subsidiary running small seconds dial at 9 o'clock, and there is a luminous circular date aperture window with a Cyclops magnification lens at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 15.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Panerai Luminor Submersible PAM00024 has a mechanical self-winding Panerai OPIII (base ETA caliber 7750 movement that's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 21 jewels, a Panerai personalized oscillating weight, and an Incabloc anti-shock system. It has a monometallic Glucydor balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, and five positions, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

This Panerai Luminor Submersible PAM00024 was introduced in 1998, and it was produced until 2017.
