Is this Overseas Dual Time Vacheron's best travel watch?

Since its release in 1996, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas has consistently been mentioned in conversations about the big boys of the integrated bracelet scene, rubbing elbows with the likes of the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, even though the Overseas was not designed by Gerald Genta. The comparisons are fitting, as they all share a similar look and high-end horological pedigree.

The Overseas line has leaned harder into its “sports watch” classification, with larger case sizes and greater water resistance than its competitors. The line has also set itself apart by experimenting with limited-edition models offered on rubber straps instead of (or in addition to) the ubiquitous integrated bracelet.

In 2019, climber and photographer Cory Richards summited Mount Everest on a difficult route while wearing a prototype Overseas Dual Time created for the event, and the public at large went wild for it. Vacheron subsequently released a pair of 150-piece limited editions in 2021: the Overseas Dual Time Everest (ref. 7910V/000T-B922) and the Overseas Chronograph Everest (ref. 5510V/000T-B923). These pieces sold out immediately and only increased the watch community’s fervor for the design.

Vacheron Constantin heard what the public wanted–a new version of this extremely popular design–and finally supplied it this year at the 2026 edition of Watches and Wonders with the Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points. Created to commemorate the 30-year anniversary of the Overseas collection, Vacheron has given us not one, but four different colorways of the beloved sporty design, each representing one of the four cardinal directions, inspiring the name. In a press release, the brand stated: “White (ref. 7930V/210T-H073) represents the frozen North; brown (ref. 7930V/210T-H072) suggests the continents and vast plains of the South; green (ref. 7930V/210T-H075) represents West, evoking deep forests and tropical jungles; and blue (ref. 7930V/210T-H074) symbolizes a journey to the Eastern horizon where ocean and sky meet.”

Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points: Specs & Details

Let’s dig into the details. The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points is a 41mm dual-time sports watch with a full titanium case, a departure from the previous limited editions, which used a mixture of stainless steel and titanium. The bezel, also titanium, is decorated with the familiar Vacheron Constantin cutout that references the brand’s Maltese cross logo. The center of the dial has a nice grainy texture to help cut down on reflections, and the inner minutes track features a circular satin finish, while the outer seconds track is lacquered. The hour markers and local time hands are 18k white gold and filled with blue Super-LumiNova, while the second time zone and day/night hands are rendered in bright orange to improve visibility and visually draw the wearer’s eye for quick reference. The crown is screw-down, and there is a single screw-down pusher at the 4 o’clock position for setting the date on the large analog date wheel.

The movement running the show is the in-house caliber 5110 DT/3, an automatic mechanical movement that beats at 28,800 vph and offers a 60-hour power reserve. This is a slight update to the 5110 DT/2 powering previous versions of the Overseas Dual Time watches, featuring different finishing. Visible through a sapphire caseback, the movement is beautifully decorated. The mainplate is completely covered in perlage, while the Côtes de Genève-finished bridges feature a dark NAC, or Nickel Anthracite Coating, treatment that matches the titanium case nicely. The contrasting NAC-treated bridges and warm brass gear train give the movement a more technical, industrial vibe than the typically polished haute horlogerie presentation. The whole thing is topped off with a 22K 3N yellow gold winding rotor, making for a simply beautiful movement.

As for accessories, the Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points comes complete with three options for attaching it to your adventuresome wrist. The first is a full titanium bracelet, an option not available on the previous limited-edition version of this watch. It features half Maltese cross-shaped polished and satin-brushed links and is secured by a titanium triple-blade folding clasp with push-pieces and an Easy-Fit system. The watch also ships with two rubber straps, one in orange and one matching the dial color of the watch. The clasp from the bracelet is removable and fits onto the rubber straps, and, according to Vacheron Constantin, all of these adjustments and strap changes can be done quickly and without tools.

Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points: Price & Value

The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points can be yours for $41,000, and is available exclusively at Vacheron Constantin boutiques worldwide. It is worth considering that the limited-edition Dual Time Everest from 2021 was priced at $31,300. While that’s a substantial increase, if you consider what has happened to watch prices across the board in the last five years, and the fact that you get a fully titanium, Vacheron-quality bracelet here, the increase seems relatively reasonable.

The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points feels like Vacheron Constantin fully settling into its own identity within the integrated sports watch scene. The Everest editions showed that there was a real appetite for a more rugged, adventure-oriented Overseas, and this release, a regular production model and not a limited edition, opens that formula up to a much wider audience. Between the titanium construction, excellent dial execution, and genuinely useful travel functionality, this feels like the most realized modern Overseas model yet.
