More about Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar "TERRALUNA" 18K White Gold 2021

This is an 18K white gold A. Lange & Sohne Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar "Terraluna" 180.026FE. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k white gold detachable deployment buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a screw down signed winding crown, three correctors in line at 9 o'clock on the left-side case band for the perpetual calendar, and there is a fourth corrector at 4 o'clock on the right-side case band. It includes an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 6 screws engraved with "A. LANGE & SOHNE - GLASHUTTE S.A." hallmarks, and a serial number. The 45.5mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, and convex bezel, are satin/brushed. The silver dial has three overlapping circles including a large off-center dial at 12 o'clock for the Richard Lange jumping constant running small seconds with a black railway-style minute scale with red Arabic numerals at the quarter--minutes, and a blued steel sword indicator hand. There is a circular hour dial with black Roman numerals and a blued steel sword hand, and a month aperture window at its 3 o'clock position. A minute subsidiary dial of the same size as the hours with a black railway-style second ring and black Arabic numerals every ten minutes is entwined with the hours dial, with a blued steel sword indicator hand with a diamond-shaped skeletonized counterbalance. There is an arched aperture opening for the power reserve at 6 o'clock with an applied fixed arrow-shaped white gold pointer; it tells the owner when to refresh the movement with the winding crown. A white gold-framed grand date aperture window is at 12 o'clock. There is an orbital moon phase indicator exhibiting the relative positions of the sun (in an open-worked balance wheel), the moon, and the earth with a grey outer reserve with engraved 24-hour time zone divisions exhibiting a time-of-day reference for regions in the northern hemisphere. The moon orbits the earth in an anti-clockwise movement, with the planetary wheel train always correctly displaying the moon. The mechanism is so accurate that a correction by one day is only required once every 1058 years. It has a 336-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 16.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This A. Lange & Sohne Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar "Terraluna" 180.026FE has a mechanical manual winding A. Lange & Sohne caliber L096.1 movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 80 jewels, 786 components, a constant force escapement, and 2 screwed gold chatons. It includes a twin mainspring barrel, blued screws, a shock absorber mechanism, and a screw balance beat adjustment system. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The A. Lange & Sohne Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar "Terraluna" 180.026FE was introduced in 2014.
