This is a stainless-steel Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Desert Edition 5052-1146-E52A. It includes a stainless-steel case on a Blancpain fabric strap with a stainless-steel tang buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a large screw-down signed winding crown and a screw down exhibition sapphire crystal display case back engraved with “BLANCPAIN – ANTIMAGNETIC – SWISS MADE - 30 BAR,” and a serial number. The 43mm diameter solid two-body case, unidirectional rotating brown knurled aluminum flat bezel with silver 60-minute elapsed time scale, and gently curved lugs, are brushed/polished. The dial is a metallic brown/grey sunburst with a perimeter steel flange with a black Arabic numeral minute scale, applied luminous rectangular hour markers, luminous rectangular steel hour and minute hands with “syringe” pointers, and there is a steel “lollipop” style second hand with a luminous circular indicator and a red needle tip. It has a double day/date aperture window at the 3 o’clock position. It has a 120-hour power reserve at full winding, it’s water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, and the 13.4mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Blancpain Fifty Fathoms automatic 5052-1146-E52A has a mechanical automatic self-winding Blancpain caliber 1315 movement that's rhodium-plated with perlage and an inner anti-magnetic soft iron cage. It's constructed with 35 jewels, 227 components, three mainspring barrels mounted in series, and a shock absorber system. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a beryllium balance, a Glucydur free sprung balance with gold regulation screws that's adjusted or heat, cold, and 6 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds device for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms automatic 5052-1146-E52A was introduced in 2022 in a limited edition of 500 examples worldwide.
