More about Blancpain 6651-1127-55B Villeret Ultraplate SS Automatic 40MM

This is a stainless steel Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate 6651-1127-55B. It has an alligator skin strap with a stainless steel deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant "bombe" sapphire crystal. The 40mm diameter solid, ultra-slim three-body case, stepped bezel, and straight lugs are polished. The dial is matte silver with applied white gold radial Roman numeral hour markers, and white gold "feuille" hands. There is a sweep seconds hand and a date aperture at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters and the power reserve is 100 hours at full wind. The 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate 6651-1127-55B has a mechanical automatic self-winding Blancpain caliber 1151 movement that's rhodium-plated with fausses-côtes embellishment. It's constructed with, 28 jewels, 210 components, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a monometallic balance adjusted for heat, cold, and 5 positions, a shock absorber mechanism, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring.

The Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate 6651-1127-55B was introduced in the 2000's. The Villeret line harkens back to Blancpain's roots; it was named for the village in the Bernesse Jura of Switzerland where Jehan-Jacques Blancpain founded his small workshop upstairs in his house.
