More about Astromat 1461 Semi Perpetual Calander Chronograph
This is a stainless-steel Breitling Astromat 1461 A19405. It includes a stainless-steel diagonal-link bracelet with a folding deployment clasp and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screw down signed winding crown with a partial crown guard, round chronograph push buttons, and there are four correctors – two on each side of the case band – for adjusting the semi-perpetual calendar functions. There is a solid snap down case back engraved with "MANUFACTURE EN SUISSE – CHRONOGRAPHE – 1461 – AUTOMATIC – 5- METERS," and in the center medallion is "BREITLING – 1884," with the wings and anchor logo in high relief. The 40mm diameter round three-body solid case, "nub" lugs, bracelet, and knurled bi-directional rotating flat steel bezel with 360 degrees of Compass points, are polished. The dial is silver with applied rectangular hour markers with luminous end pips surrounded by a black fraction-of-a-second/minute scale and around the perimeter is a black tachymeter scale to 500 UPH. It has rounded steel baton hour and minute hands with luminous fill and a steel center sweep second hand with a "B" logo counterbalance. There are three white recessed steel-ringed combination subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals, markers, and steel indicator hands, including a radial month/30-minute chronograph totalizer at 9 o'clock, a radial day/12-hour chronograph counter at 6 o'clock, and there is a radial date/small constant running seconds register at the 12 o'clock position. A color hemispherical moon phase dial is at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 Meters/335 feet, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Breitling Astromat 1461 A19405 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Breitling caliber 19 (based on the ETA 2892-A2) movement, which is rhodium-plated, with a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 38 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, an index regulator, and a hacking seconds mechanism. The movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Breitling Astromat 1461 A19405 was released in the 2000's and the chronograph is combined with a complete calendar that only needs an adjustment once every leap year – 1,461 days.
