This is a .950 platinum Cartier Tank Louis Cartier 1601 1. It includes a solid 2-body platinum case with an alligator leather strap, an 18k white gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has the signature Cartier Tank winding crown with a beaded grip and set with a sapphire cabochon and the solid case back is engraved with "CARTIER – PARIS -TANK – MECHANIQUE – PLATINE – SWISS MADE," hallmarks, and a serial number. The 23.5mm by 30mm (Including Lugs) two-body solid case, straight integral screwed lugs, and convex art deco-style bezel, are polished. The dial is silver sunray guilloche with black printed Roman numeral hour markers around a rectangular railway-style minute/hour scale. It has blued Cartier sword hour and minute hands and it's water resistant to 25 meters/80 feet. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding and the ultra-thin 5.5mm case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Cartier Tank Louis Cartier 1601 1 has a mechanical manual winding Cartier caliber 21MC (based on the Frederic Piguet caliber 21) movement that's rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,600 vph (2.5Hz). The Cartier Tank Louis Cartier 160 1 was released in the 1990's. It's a rare platinum variant produced in 2000. The iconic design originally from 1919 was a personal favorite of Louis Cartier, who owned the company until the 1940's.
