This is a c.1962 18k yellow gold Cartier Vintage Tank Cintrée. It includes an alligator leather strap with an 18k yellow gold folding deployment clasp and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has an octagonal pull-out winding crown set with a sapphire cabochon and there is a solid snap down case back with a hallmark and a serial number. The 35mm rectangular solid tonneau two-body curved case, curved screwed lugs, and convex curved bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is white with "exploding" black Roman numeral hour markers around a black hour/minute scale. It has blued pointed baton hour and minute hands, it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 5.3mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Cartier Vintage Tank Cintrée has a mechanical manual-winding Cartier caliber 168 movement. It's constructed with 28 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a monometallic balance. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The 1962 Cartier Tank Cintrée was first introduced in 1921 and is a timeless design with its curvilinear case.
