This is an 18k rose gold F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance. It’s the 20th anniversary edition of the Resonance model and it includes an 18k rose gold case on an alligator leather strap with a matching 18k rose gold tang buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. The "Cordes de Marseille" winding crown is at the top of the case and adjusts the movement and sets the hours and minutes of each of the large circular time dials. There is a matching Cordes de Marseille crown on the right-side case band that synchronizes both seconds hands to zero when it’s pulled out. The large twin time dials have whitened guilloche and white gold tri-screw “gasket” rings, blue Arabic numerals and markers, and blued indicator hands. There are smaller combined circular small constant running seconds dials at the 6 o’clock positions. The left dial has a 24-hour time zone display, and the right has 12. There is an exhibition sapphire display crystal case back secured with 6 screws and it’s engraved with “FP. JOURNE -RESONANCE – INV. FECIT – AU 750,” hallmarks and a serial number. The 40mm diameter solid two-body case, upward-curved lugs, and convex bezel, are polished. The dial is a very rare variant grey and there is a fan-shaped black 40-hour power reserve indicator with a blued hand at the twelve o’clock position. It’s water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance has an all-new manual winding F.P. Journe caliber 1499.3. It’s a uniquely different movement concept with twin linear escapements that keep each other stabilized. It’s 18k rose gold with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, partial circular graining on the base plate, polished and bevelled screw heads, and it’s constructed with 36 jewels, two monometallic balances with 4 inertia weights adjusted to 6 positions, free sprung balance springs, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3hz). The F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance in this variation of case and dial was only produced in an edition of six examples in 2020.
