This is a platinum F.P Journe Octa Reserve de Marche Ruthenium Jour-et-Nuit. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k white gold deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a pull out winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 6 screws, and engraved with F.P. JOURNE – OCTA AUTO – 61/99-02A - Invenit et Fecit (the Journe motto) – PT 950 (Platinum 950)," and five hallmarks. "Invenit et Fecit" is also written on the upper perimeter of the dial. The solid 40mm diameter platinum two-body case, downturned lugs, and rounded bezel are polished. The grey Ruthenium dial has an off-centered time dial with black Arabic numeral hours and minutes, and a square date aperture between 11 and 12 o'clock. It has a blued steel center sweep second hand and "Journe" hands. There is a 120-hour (5 day) power reserve arched indicator at 9 o'clock, and a day/night subsidiary dial is at 7 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and it includes a COSC certificate (Certified Official Superlative Chronometer). The combined small running seconds subsidiary and large silver guilloche offset time registers are secured to the ruthenium plate by 3 screws. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This F.P Journe Octa Reserve de Marche Ruthenium Jour et Nuit has a mechanical automatic self-winding F.P. Journe caliber 1300 movement. It has fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 32 jewels and a shock absorber device. There is a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic 4-arm balance with 4 timing weights adjusted to 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, and an off-center bi-directional 22K white gold guilloche rotor. The Journe Octa Reserve de Marche Ruthenium Jour et Nuit was introduced in 2002, in an edition of only 99 examples. The grey dial is Ruthenium (Atomic No. 44; "Ru"), a rare transition metal of the periodic table's platinum group.
