More about IWC 3241-001 Mark XII SS Bracelet / JLC Caliber

This is a stainless steel IWC Mark XII Pilot 3241-001. It has a fine jubilee-style integral stainless steel link bracelet with a folding deployment clasp, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It includes a screw down winding crown, and a screw down solid case back engraved with "DIE FLIEGERUHR (The Pilot) AUTOMATIK," and a serial number. It includes a soft iron antimagnetic inner shield, and the 36mm diameter solid two-body case, gently curved lugs, bracelet, and flat angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous white Arabic numeral hour markers, and vintage luminous baton, square, and triangle hour indices at the quarter hours. There is a white luminous minute/second scale around the perimeter. It has steel baton hands with luminous inserts, and there is a center sweep second hand. A quick set date aperture window is at the 3 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and it has a 40-hour power reserve at full winding. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Mark XII Pilot 3241-001 has a mechanical automatic self-winding caliber 884/2 (based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 889/2) movement. It's rhodium plated, and it's constructed with 21 jewels, an anti-shock device, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, a hacking seconds device for precision time setting, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The IWC Mark XII Pilot 3241-001 was introduced in 1994, and it was produced through 1999.
