More about IWC IW329005 Aquatimer Automatic Expedition Jacques Cousteau Blue Dial SS / Rubber

This is a stainless steel IWC Aquatimer Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau IW329005. It has a composite rubber strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a domed scratch resistant antireflective sapphire crystal. It includes a screw down signed winding crown, and a screw down Helium release valve at 9 o'clock, along with a cap that hides the gears used for controlling the external/internal rotating knurled bezel with the SafeDive system that controls the inner elapsed time scale. There is a solid screw down case back engraved with a portrait of Jacques Cousteau that's engraved with "IWC - AQUATIMER – AUTOMATIC – EXPEDITION JACQUES-YVES COUSTEAU – 30 BAR," and a serial number. The 42mm diameter solid two-body case, quick-release lugs, and knurled flat bezel, are brushed/polished. The dial is deep-sea blue with luminous white Arabic numeral minute markers at the quarter hours, baton indices, and a luminous white dive triangle at the 60-minute mark. There is an inner luminous white minute/second scale with luminous "tuning-fork" style baton indices. It has luminous fat baton hands, a center sweep seconds hand with a red/white arrow tip, and there is a date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, and the 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Aquatimer Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau IW329005 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 30120 (base ETA 2892-A2) movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve and pelage embellishment, and it's constructed with 21 jewels, 163 components, an anti-shock device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes blued screws, a hacking seconds device for precision time setting, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The IWC Aquatimer Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau IW329005 was introduced in 2014.
