This is an 18K rose gold IWC Portuguese Split Second Chronograph IW371204. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching 18K rose gold buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The split-second chronograph has round buttons with a return button at 10 o'clock. The 41mm diameter solid three-body case, thin cupped bezel, and downturned lugs are polished/brushed The dial is matte silver with oxidized rose gold feuille hands, a center sweep second chronograph hand, and applied rose gold Arabic numeral hour markers. There is an outer engraved minute/seconds track, and an outermost track with 1/5th seconds. It has a subsidiary small seconds dial at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute register at 12. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Portuguese Split Second Chronograph IW371204 has a mechanical manual winding IWC caliber C76240 movement. It's gilt brass with oeil-de-perdrix embellishments, and it's constructed with 27 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precise time setting.

The IWC Portuguese Split Second Chronograph IW371204 was introduced in the 1990's. IWC debuted their first Portuguese split-second chronograph in 1995. The signature round case design of the Portuguese family was initiated in 1939 to honor Portugal’s great seafaring explorers like Bartolomeu Dias, Vasco da Gama, and Ferdinand Magellan.
