More about IWC IW371445 Portuguese Chronograph SS Silver Dial / Gold Numerals

This is a stainless steel IWC Portuguese Chronograph IW371445. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel double deployant clasp, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a solid, 41mm diameter three-body polished and brushed case with an overhanging "deep dish" bezel, and downturned lugs. There are gold feuille hands and a screw-down case back with four screws. The dial is silver with applied rose gold Arabic hour numerals and outer dot minute divisions, with an outermost track having a 1/5th seconds scale with 5-minute/seconds sectors. The round button chronograph has silver subsidiary dials for the small seconds at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute register at 12. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 44-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC Portuguese Chronograph IW371445 has a mechanical automatic self-winding caliber 79240 (based on the ETA 7750) movement that's gilt brass with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, and a straight-line lever escapement. There is a shock absorber mechanism and a, self-compensating flat balance spring, as well as a hacking seconds device. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

This IWC Portuguese Chronograph IW371445 was introduced in 2011.
