More about IWC IW545405 Portuguese Manual Hand Wound Silver Dial 44MM

This is a stainless steel IWC Portuguese Hand Wound, IW545405. It has a brown alligator leather strap with an 18K rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 44mm solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and fixed grooved bezel are polished with brushed satin finished edges. It has an exhibition sapphire crystal display case back. The dial is silvered with rose gold leaf-shaped hands, applied rose gold Arabic numeral hour markers, and a black outer minute track with minute divisions and rose gold dot index markers every five minutes. There is a blue subsidiary seconds dial at 6 O'clock. It has a 46-hour power reserve and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The IWC manual winding, calibre 98295 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a large screw balance, and a self-compensating flat Breguet balance spring. There is a nickel-silver three-quarter bridge, and additional bridges that are embellished with circular graining and Coates de Geneva stripes. The rotor oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz).

IWC designed this watch with a dial reminiscent of the original 1939 Portuguese with the "chemin de fer," railroad track, arched edge crystal, and traditional pocket watch look.
