More about Master Geographic 18K Rose Gold 38MM

This is an 18k rose gold Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic, reference 142.2.92. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k rose gold double deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a screw-down solid hinged case back secured with 4 screws, and engraved with "Master Control - Jaeger LeCoultre – 5 BAR," and various hallmarks and serial numbers, including the 1000 hour Master Control stamp. The 38mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and angled flat bezel are polished. The crown at 10 o'clock rotates the 24-city World Time disc for the second time zone aperture arc between 4:30 and 7:30 o'clock, indicated with a gold triangular marker. There is a corrector on the case band at 2 o'clock for the date. The silver dial has applied faceted gold dart hour markers with the JLC logo at 12 o'clock around a minute/second track. It has gold luminous dauphine hands, and a blued center sweep seconds hand. There is a 40-hour power reserve arc between 8 and 11 o'clock, and a second time zone subsidiary dial is at 6 o'clock, with a day/night indicator at its 9 o'clock. There is a radial date sub dial between 2 and 3 o'clock, and it's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 929 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 34 jewels, 310 components, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a shock absorber device, a monometallic balance with timing screws, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. There is a 22k gold rotor segment, a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting, and the movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). JLC introduced the first Geographique in 1990, a dual time-zone watch with an arched aperture for selecting the city of the second zone. This Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic, reference Q142.2.92 passed the six-week, 1000-hour series of tests that remain the benchmark graduation for all of its timepieces.
