More about Master Geographic SS Black

This is a stainless-steel Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic Q142.84.20. It has an alligator leather strap with stainless steel double deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a screw-down solid hinged case back secured with 4 screws, and engraved with " Jaeger LeCoultre – 5 ATM," and serial numbers. The 38mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and angled flat bezel are polished. The crown at 10 o'clock rotates the 24-city World Time disc for the second time zone aperture arc between 4:30 and 7:30 o'clock, indicated with a gold triangular marker. There is a corrector on the case band at 2 o'clock for the date. The black dial has applied faceted steel dart hour markers with the JLC logo at 12 o'clock around a perimeter luminous white minute/second scale. It has steel luminous dauphine hands, and a steel center sweep second hand. There is a 40-hour power reserve arc between 9 and 12 o'clock, and a world time zone subsidiary dial is at 6 o'clock, with a day/night indicator at its 9 o'clock and a 24-city disc specifying summer. There is a radial date sub dial between 2 and 3 o'clock, and it's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet. It has a 43-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 12.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic Q142.84.20 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 939A/1 (based on the JLC caliber 939A) movement. It's rhodium-plated, with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 34 jewels, 310 components, blued screws, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a shock absorber device, a monometallic balance with timing screws, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. There is a skeletonized 22k gold rotor segment, a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting, and the movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic Q142.84.20 was introduced in c. 2010.
