More about AMVOX5 World Chonograph Aston Martin Ceramic / Titanium

This is a ceramic/titanium Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX5 World Racing Chronograph, 193J471. It has a calfskin leather strap with red stitching, a ceramic tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There are reset pushers at two and four o'clock with red rubber grips that are reminiscent of the paddle shifters of an Aston Martin, and the crown at 10 o'clock is used for setting the current time zone for the world timer function. It has a screwed down solid case back with the Aston Martin Racing logo secured by 4 screws. The 44mm diameter solid two-body black ceramic case, stepped bezel, and straight lugs are satin brushed. The dial is black and partially skeletonized, with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers. It has luminous baton hands and a red chronograph hand, and the rehaut (internal bezel) has the names of major cities in each time zone. Inside the ring of cities is another ring that corresponds to the 24-hour clock with a day-night indicator. There is a 30-minute subsidiary dial at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour indicator at 9 o'clock. A spinning disk showing the Aston Martin logo at 6 o'clock represents the running constant seconds sub-dial. There is a date aperture window between 5 and 6 o'clock. It has a power reserve of 65-hours, and it's water resistant to 50 meters. The finished watch passed the rigorous Master Control 1000 hours test before leaving the factory. The 16mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding JLC caliber 752 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 41 jewels, 279 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted to temperature and 6 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Jaeger-LeCoultre originally launched the AMVOX line in partnership with carmaker Aston Martin. The letters A and M refer to Aston Martin, while VOX represents the famous JLC Memovox. This watch was produced in a limited edition of 300 examples, with design and colors inspired by Aston Martin Le Mans prototypes.
