More about Jaeger LeCoultre Q3732470 Grande Reverso 976 18K Rose Gold Black Dial

This is an 18K rose gold Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976, Q3732470. It has a leather Strap and a matching rose gold double deployant clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 30 mm by 48 mm solid five-body case, reeded bezels and integral lugs are brushed/polished. The dial is black with white painted black Arabic numerals hour markers, and an inner track for the minute divisions. There is a sunken subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock, and rose gold epée hands. The reverse side has a sapphire crystal display case back for examining the movement. It's water resistant to 30 meters, and has a 48-hour power reserve. The 10.3mm thick case, dials, and movement are all signed.

The manual winding Jaeger LeCoultre calibre 976 movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 19 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance, a shock absorber mechanism, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The case, dial, and movement are all signed

French designers Cesar de Trey and Renee-Alfred Chauvot created the innovative Reverso in 1931. The idea was inspired by the desire of polo players to have a wristwatch that could protect the crystal and resist the abuse of the extreme sport. This distinctive art deco reversible design has become a signature icon for the company, and one of the most unique watches in the world.
