More about Jaeger LeCoultre Q8108420 Geophysic Q8108420 Universal Time SS

This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic Universal Time Q8108420. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has an exhibition screw-down case back, and anti-magnetic protection. The blue lacquer dial has engraved continents and oceans, luminescent baton hands, steel baton hour index markers, a white center sweep second hand, and True Seconds, which adjusts the hours via the crown without having to adjust the minute hand. When the universal time has been set, the only adjustment you have to make is for your own local home time, which can be accomplished by simply moving the hour hand forwards or backwards, independently of the minutes and seconds, avoiding any loss of precision. The 41.6mm diameter solid three-body case, stepped lugs, and cupped angled bezel are polished. There is a 24-hour GMT time zone ring divided into day and night, with the names of 24 world cities that are on an outer white reserve. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and it has a 40-hour power reserve at full wind. It includes the Certified Official Swiss Chronometer rating, and the 11.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic Universal Time Q8108420 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 772 (based on the JLC caliber 770) movement that's rhodium-plated with cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 36 jewels, dead beat seconds, blued screws, 274 components, a single barrel, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a non-circular balance wheel configuration called "Gyurolab," It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and micro screws on the balance for regulation. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic Universal Time Q8108420 was introduced in 2015.
