This is an 18k rose gold Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM00197. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k rose gold tang buckle, and a slightly cambered (domed) sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. It has a screw down winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 4 screws, with the 8-day power reserve indicator visible through the back. It's engraved with "OFFICINE PANERAI-FIRENZE 1860," and several hallmarks. The 45mm cushion-shaped solid three-body case, removable wire loop lugs, and stepped bezel, are polished. It has a black hobnail guilloche "sandwich" dial with luminous baton hour indices, luminous Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 12 o'clock, and gold baton hands with luminous inserts. There is a running small seconds subsidiary dial with luminous markers and a luminous hand at the 9 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and the 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM00197 has a mechanical manual winding Panerai caliber OP XIV (base Jaeger-LeCoultre) movement. It's rhodium plated with cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 33 jewels, blued screws, an Incabloc anti-shock mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a Glucuydur monometallic balance that's adjusted for heat, cold and 5 positions. There is a self-compensating flat balance spring, a hacking seconds device for precision time setting, a personalized Panerai oscillating weight, and the mechanism vibrates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM00197 was produced in 2004 in a limited edition of 300 examples, and is a new version of the original design of the first Panerai watch created in 1938.
