More about Panerai PAM00692 Luminor Submersible 1950 BMG-TECH 3 Days Automatic

This is a BMG (Bulk Metal Glass) Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 BMG-TECH PAM00692. It has a rubber strap with a titanium tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) case is made from a new glass-like alloy that was developed by Panerai Laboratorio di Idee; It contains zirconium, copper, aluminium, titanium and nickel, which is produced to prevent orderly molecular crystallization, giving the watch greater strength and resistance to magnetic fields. It includes a screw down titanium case back engraved with "OFFICINE PANERAI - SUBMERSIBLE – AUTOMATIC DIVERS PROFESSIONAL – TITANIUM CASE BACK - - ZR-BMG – 300 M – FIRENZE 1860," serial numbers, and a depiction of the Italian navy manned torpedo. The 47mm cushion-shaped solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and knurled unidirectional rotating flat bezel with quarter-hour marked medallions and luminous pips to 60, are polished/brushed. It includes the patented fully protected winding crown with the Panerai lever-activated device for winding even under water. The dial is blue with applied luminous baton and circular hour indices. It has skeletonized fat sword hands with luminous tips, and there is a date aperture window at 3 o'clock. A running small seconds subsidiary dial is at the 9 o'clock position, with luminous markers and a distinctive blue indicator hand. It's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, and it has a 3-day, 72-hour power reserve at full winding. The 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 BMG-TECH PAM00692 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Panerai caliber P9010 movement. It's constructed with two mainspring barrels mounted in series, 31 jewels, 200 components, a stop-seconds function for precision time setting, and an Incabloc® anti-shock device. It includes a monometallic Glucydur balance, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 BMG-TECH PAM00692 was produced in 2017 in a limited edition of 1000 examples.
