Patek Philippe 3495 Vintage Calatrava "Disco Volante", 18K yellow gold case with Vendome lugs, 2 piece case, manual wind Patek Philippe calibre 27SC, central sweep seconds hand, original silver dial with applied yellow gold indexes and baton shaped hands, the original dial appears to be in excellent original condition, acrylic crystal, circa 1960's, diameter: 36mm, thickness: 10.6mm, Excellent Condition with original box and Patek Philippe archive papers dated 1964. This watch was purchased from the family of the original owner.

This is a vintage c. 1960's 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Calatrava "Disco Volante" 3495. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18K yellow gold tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. It has a signed pull out winding crown, and a solid snap down case back. The 36mm diameter solid two-body case, Vendome lugs, and thin convex bezel, are polished. The original silver sunray dial has applied yellow gold stick baton hour markers around a perimeter black minute/second scale. It includes pointed gold stick baton hands, and a gold center sweep second hand. It has a 38-48-hour power reserve at full winding, and 10.6mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava "Disco Volante" 3495 has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 27 SC movement. It includes the Geneva Quality hallmark, and it's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a Gyromax monometallic balance that's adjusted for heat, cold isochronism and 5 positions, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The Patek Philippe Calatrava "Disco Volante" 3495 was introduced in 1965, and it was named for the spate of UFO sightings around the world. "Disco Volante" means "flying disk" in Italian.
