Patek Philippe 5002P 5002P-001 Sky Moon Tourbillon introduced in 2000, the 5002 is the first generation of the Sky Moon Tourbillon by Patek Philippe. At the time of its introduction it was the most complicated wrist watch ever made by Patek Philippe. The 5002P was replaced by the ornate and heavily decorated 6002 in 2014. All Sky Moon Tourbillons are incredibly important but the 5002 represents outstanding value given its current price point when compared to the 6002 and other grand complications of the like. Automatic Patek Philippe caliber RTO 27 QR SID LU CL movement featuring tourbillon, perpetual calendar, retrograde date, sky chart, moon phase, the celestial face of the watch displays the sidereal time, and minute repeating cathedral gongs which elegantly and masterfully chime the time. The caliber consists of 686 parts, the platinum case of the 5002 is hand engraved with halved Calatrava crosses, the opaline dial is embossed with Calatrava crosses in the center of the dial, lacquered gold feuille hour and minute hands, skeletonized white hands beautifully contrast against the celestial sky, size 42.8mm, thickness 16.8mm. This Patek Philippe 5002 is in outstanding original condition and was purchased from the second owner. The watch was last serviced in 2016 and since its service, the watch was seldom worn, and is accompanied by its original ornate box, Patek Philippe certificate dated from 2013, leather folio, and service tag. The service receipt is included!! The watch is confirmed unpolished by Patek Philippe. This is a platinum Patek Philippe 5002P Sky Moon Tourbillon 5002P-001. It has 21 complications including time, a minute repeater, a hidden tourbillon escapement, a perpetual calendar, a leap year cycle, a retrograde date, a sky chart, a moon phase and orbit of the moon, and sidereal time. It includes an alligator leather strap with a platinum tang buckle and curved sapphire crystals. The signed fluted pull-out winding crown at 2 o'clock regulates the celestial chart and sidereal hours, and the pull-out crown at 4 o'clock sets the time and winding. There is a sliding lever on the left-side case band for the minute repeater and twin gong chimes and the case is embellished with a raised Calatrava design motif. It has a snap down exhibition sapphire display crystal case back with a blue and gold celestial rear dial that displays the luminous white Arabic numeral sidereal 24-hour chart (measuring 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4.1 seconds) with a second time dial inside a white gold elliptical sky vault showing the orientation of the visible celestial night sky and the motion of the stars with applied white gold compass points, white gold skeletonized feuille leaf hour and minute hands, and the lunar cycle of 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.82 seconds). The 42.8mm diameter solid round 3-body case, screwed curved lugs, and convex stepped rotating 12-hour bezel, are polished. The white opaline dial has a Calatrava guilloche design with blued "Poire" cathedral hour and minute hands, a red date indicator hand, and applied white gold Roman numeral hour markers around the perimeter. There is an inner black railway-style minute scale inside a jump-back red radial date scale. There are four recessed silver subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals, markers, and blued indicator hands, including a radial day register at 9 o'clock, a four-year Roman numeral register leap-year cycle at 12 o'clock, a moon phase dial with a feuille white gold hand at 6 o'clock, and there is a radial month at the 3 o'clock position. It includes a hidden tourbillon with a constant small running seconds, and it has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 16.25mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe 5002P Sky Moon Tourbillon 5002P-001 has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber R TO 27 QR SID LUCL (based on the Patek caliber R TO 27 PS) movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment and the quality seal of Geneva and it's constructed with an astounding 686 components, 55 jewels, and an anti-shock system. It includes a monometallic balance and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). Introduced in 2000, the Patek Philippe 5002P Sky Moon Tourbillon 5002P-001 is the first generation of its kind. At that time it was the most complicated wristwatch ever made by Patek Philippe, and their first double faced watch. The 5002P was replaced by the ornate and heavily decorated 6002 in 2014.
