More about Travel Time 5034J 18K Yellow Gold

This is an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Travel Time, 5034J. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching 18K yellow gold buckle. The solid two-body case is polished with a stepped ribbed bezel, straight lugs, and a sapphire crystal. The crown is at 3 o'clock for winding and time setting, and it features two time zones with push buttons at 8 and 10 o'clock for independently adjusting the hour hand for different zones. The dial is white with black printed Breguet Arabic numeral hour marker indexes, and an outer minute track. It has oxidized gold feuille hands and a yellow gold hand for the secondary time zone. There is a 24-hour second time zone subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock, and a small seconds aperture at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 2.5 atm., and the case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 215/156 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a Gyromax balance that's adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. The Calatrava line was introduced in 1932, elegant, sleek watches with avant-garde aesthetics and a touch of Bauhaus simplicity. The circular cases, whether wide or thin with polished bezels, or decorated with hobnail patterns, had an unmistakable Calatrava style. From 1959 to 1962 Patek Philippe registered patents for time zone watches to accommodate all the new air travelers conducting worldwide business.
